Klaus-Peter Wolf, born in the Ruhr area, began writing at an early age and is considered the "father of East Frisian crime novels". At the end of January, the 18th volume "Ostfriesenhass" about the investigator Ann Kathrin Klaasen will be published. Klaus-Peter Wolf "East Frisian Hatred": That's what the book is about

He had to do it. Only he had the gift of a chosen one. Others did not see what he saw. They had long since been in the north, disguised as harmless vacationers, as normal people who wanted to spend their vacation on the coast. But he knew better. He had to save humanity. Today he had only caught one. Actually, he had wanted to kill both of them. He had to get better, couldn't make any more mistakes. Here, under the starry sky on the dike, he drew new energy. Because he still had a big task ahead of him...

Bestselling author Klaus-Peter Wolf is having sleepless nights ahead of the publication of a new crime novel. "My biggest fear is to disappoint. When a new novel comes out, I'm nervous and excited," the crime writer, who celebrates his 12th birthday on January 70, confessed to dpa. For example, he fears that the suspense might be missing in a new release or that a joke might not be understood.

Klaus-Peter Wolf writes for his readers

"I don't write for my German teacher, not for a literary critic and not for the tax office. I write the books for my readers and I don't want to disappoint them," explained the crime writer, who lives in the small town of Norden in Lower Saxony, just like the main character of his East Frisian crime novels.

At the same time, he finds it enriching to maintain a close connection with his readers. "When fans criticize, it's completely honest," Wolf stressed. However, he has little sympathy for general literary criticism that rejects successful regional crime novels. "It has something to do with a strangely elitist attitude: what many people think is good must be bad." He sees this as a problem for democracy. While crime writers with a large readership receive a lot of recognition in other countries, they often encounter the disapproval of literary critics in Germany, Wolf noted. The fact that writing, even of crime novels, is real craftsmanship is revealed by crime colleague Nele Neuhaus in an interview with IPPEN. MEDIA.
