The situation in seven prisons in Ecuador remains out of control, while the government of the new president, Daniel Noboa, continues with the help of the army efforts to restore law and order after the violence unleashed on Tuesday in Guayaquil by criminal groups linked to drug trafficking.
On Friday night, the Guayaquil Police reported the escape of 5 other inmates from the prison of El Litoral, the same from which the drug boss Adolfo Macias, alias 'Fito', escaped on Monday.
In the meantime, the settling of scores inside the penitentiaries also continues and in the last few hours the authorities have recovered the bodies of two inmates thrown outside the enclosures of the prisons of El Cañar and Azuay.
