Highlights: Yoni Bloch uses a painting of a fallen man who adored him for a single cover. On one of his visits to the homes of the families of the fallen, he arrived at the home of Amir Lavi, z"l, who fell on October 7 defending the Sufa outpost. A painting of him today adorns the cover of the song "Between the Sea and the River", which the singer releases in the spirit of the times. The parents were excited to hear the appeal and to think that Amir's painting would be the cover for a song by the artist he loved so much.

Like many Israeli artists, Yoni Bloch has found himself over the past three months visiting soldiers at bases, meeting evacuees and wounded and visiting the homes of families of fallen soldiers who adored him, talking to the families, comforting, hearing stories and even singing. On one of these visits, he went to the home of Amir Lavi, z"l, who fell on October 7 defending the Sufa outpost.

In a conversation with his parents in his private room, the parents showed Yoni his booklets of drawings, of the boy who was an artist at heart, painted and played. When Yoni was looking for an idea for the cover of his new single, a song he wrote together with Barak Feldman in the shadow of the new reality, he thought about using one of Amir's drawings. The parents were excited to hear the appeal and to think that Amir's painting would be the cover for a song by the artist he loved so much.

They sent all his paintings and from all of them Yoni caught the eye of Amir's self-portrait, a painting that today adorns "Between the Sea and the River," his new poem that expresses the emotional place that deceptively alternates between despair and deep sadness and the hope and yearning for better days.
