Norwegian champion Aleksander Kilde's spectacular crash in Saturday's downhill in Wengen had less serious consequences than feared. Kilde, 31 years old and a World Cup winner, did not suffer any fractures but a dislocated shoulder as well as a cut to a calf and several bruises. He underwent surgery last night in Bern, the Norwegian Ski Federation announced. It is not yet known when he will return to racing.
