Three months ago, when she left her native Brittany with three of her friends to settle in Reunion Island, Nora, 24, did not expect to have to face such an ordeal. "It's the first time we've experienced something like this. At first we were very stressed. We stopped watching the news because the images are really disturbing. Now, we're starting to get used to the idea," says the young woman. "We talked a lot with Creoles about how to organize ourselves. They advised us to stock up on food and water several days in advance. The problem is that with the power cuts, we don't have a fridge anymore," continues this resident of Saint-Louis, in the south of the island.
