The incident with a Boeing 737 MAX 9 has further consequences. All machines of this type are tested. Only a specific configuration is affected.
Frankfurt – The Boeing 737 MAX 9, in which a cabin section broke out last week, is still under investigation. Other aircraft of the type have also been withdrawn from service for the time being. Some affected airlines also fly to German airports.
Incident with Boeing 737 MAX 9: Several airlines use planes of this type
The video of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 incident made waves. A plug-in panel, which replaces an emergency exit in smaller aircraft of the type, broke out during flight, leaving a large hole in the aircraft wall. Later, the broken part was found in the garden of a local resident. The panel is the problematic part in the plane, which apparently has not been fixed well enough.
Other machines of the type were also found to have loose screws and other parts. This was reported by United Airlines and Alaska Airlines – the incident of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 occurred on an Alaska Airlines flight. A total of 215 machines of this type are in operation worldwide, the majority of them in the United States. But Turkish Airlines, Aeromexico and Copa Airlines also operate the problematic type of Boeing 737 MAX 9.
Boeing 737 MAX 9: Can such incidents also occur in Europe?
The situation is different for aircraft that are also used in Europe. According to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), no EASA member state operates an aircraft of the appropriate configuration. This includes all EU countries as well as Switzerland, Norway and others. The Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft found in Europe are larger than those in America and require an emergency exit. Aircraft in Europe are therefore not affected by the error, reports EASA.
The following airlines operate the Boeing 737 MAX 9:

The planes from the USA cannot reach Europe, at least for the time being, as there is a flight ban for them. EASA also adopted this for Europe. In recent years, there have been repeated problems with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Over 300 people died in plane crashes in 2018 and 2019 after in-flight errors. MAX 8 aircraft had crashed, the aircraft now affected are those of the type MAX 9.
