For the collapse of the attic at the Convent of Giaccherino on the evening of January 13, during a wedding party, the Pistoia prosecutor's office opened a file where it hypothesizes the crimes of negligent injury and negligent disaster.
In the coming days, technical investigations will be carried out, which could be carried out in the form of an investigation with the public prosecutor or by incident of evidence.
Dozens of people were injured in the collapse, some of them seriously. According to what has been learned, the technical documentation relating to the property has already been acquired by the investigators. However, the photographs taken in the structure during the reception were also acquired. Testimonies continue to be collected. The investigations are carried out by the Carabinieri of Pistoia and, as far as they are competent, also by the military of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit. The property was seized immediately after the event.
