Hyssy disappeared about three years ago. Now the orange kitten reappeared. For cat mum Anna, this is a miracle and a ray of hope in bad times.
Sometimes small miracles do happen. Usually when you least expect them. Cat owner Anna was hit particularly hard last year. She lives with her husband on Maui (U.S. state of Hawaii). Last summer, catastrophic forest fires caused them to lose not only several cats, but also all their belongings. This week, she received a call from the local animal rescue organization. One of her kittens was found. The reunion with a blind cat also moves to tears.
Missing cat reappears after three years
The Maui Humane Society called the woman and told her that she had found her cat. This was recently announced by the non-profit animal rescue in a social media post on Facebook.
However, the orange kitten was not one of the beloved cats that have disappeared since the devastating fires. Instead, it was her cat Hyssy, who had been missing for almost three years.
"Before they lost everything in the fire, including their home, Hyssy had been missing for nearly two years," according to the Maui Humane Society. "Anna and a cat catcher from the community had searched tirelessly for him, but unfortunately he was never found." Is it okay to take a cat home if you find it on the street?

Emotional images that go to the heart
When the couple got the call that Hyssy had finally been found, they couldn't believe it. "Anna and her husband immediately dropped everything, rushed straight to us and were able to take him in the long-awaited embrace," it continues.

"The moment they walked in, Hyssy immediately recognized them, even after such a long separation," according to the Maui Humane Society. The love for her humans seems to be something very special for the kitten.
