Netflix subscribers are facing a new setback from March 2024. The streaming provider is discontinuing its service on some devices.
Munich – Netflix is one of the most popular streaming providers, with 2023.247 million paying subscribers worldwide as of October 15. Of all things, the much-used service is now no longer available on some devices and thus affects many customers.
Netflix app no longer available on multiple Sony devices
According to Sony, the Netflix app will soon no longer be available on some devices - as early as the end of February 2024. According to Sony, the devices in question were launched between 2011 and 2013.
Affected are 45 TV models of the HX series, 38 models of the W series, 15 models from the EX series and two other models. To help customers check if their model number is affected, Sony has created its own spreadsheet and support article. In conclusion, Sony states: "If you have any questions, please contact Netflix" and refers to the streaming provider's support.

Deadline until the end of February 2024: Netflix discontinues service on some devices
Customers who want to continue watching series and movies via Netflix from March 2024 will then face a problem. You either need a new TV or need to worry about an external streaming solution. Sony cites "technical limitations" as the reason for the end of support in its announcement.

Netflix released several restrictions in recent times
Netflix shutting down its service for certain products happens all the time. Recently, there have been a few dampeners for subscribers. First, Netflix removed the option to share one's own password, and since the end of October, the cheapest basic subscription model has no longer been available.
