"I'm on Monjero. Right, everyone? Believe me, everyone who was fat last year and is now thin is on the miracle drug," singer Boy George wrote in his new memoir, Karma.

In his new memoir, the 80-year-old singer and pop icon of the '62s revealed all the cosmetic procedures he underwent and the weight loss he attributes to the popular diet injection Monjero. He also reveals that he has undergone a tummy tuck ("the most painful thing I've ever had") and hair transplants.

"It's time to confess that I had three hair transplants around 2015-2018 — two in Ireland and one last in Los Angeles — and the strange thing is that no one remembers being bald as a shaved badger," he wrote. "I had a tummy tuck shortly after, and it was the most painful thing I've ever done because I went on tour right after that with Cyndi Lauper with the bag of blood attached to me."

"I had lost over 40 pounds on my metabolism diet in the past and needed to get rid of excess skin," he explained in the book. "When someone asks about my scar, I say I had twins in my caesarean. I've never had Botox, and maybe I'm the only person in show business with his natural face. I'm not afraid to grow old and I think I've grown into myself. It may seem strange to say that I feel sexier, but I do. I used to joke over the years, 'Sexy at 60.' That was my ambition."

In 2022, Boy George tried to take the type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic to maintain his new lean figure. However, he later moved to Monjero, admitting that maintaining his weight has been difficult over the years as a person who is constantly in the public eye.

Ozempic is the brand name of semaglutide and acts in the brain to affect satiety. The injection is approved by the FDA for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but is used by many celebrities for weight loss. Similar to Ozempic, Mounjaro is the brand name of tirzepatide, which works by reducing appetite and improving the way the body breaks down sugar and fat. The drug — taken by injection in the thigh, abdomen or arm — is also FDA-approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and is popular as a weight loss aid.

"I've struggled with my weight most of my life and being criticized publicly and in the media doesn't help," George wrote. "I love food and I can't control my appetite, but I think I've finally managed to control it."
