Daniele Silvestri, 'I've been telling stories for 30 (lucky) years' - Music

2024-01-16T18:20:02.013Z

Highlights: From January 18 to April 30 concerts at the Auditorium of Rome (ANSA). "It's been a lucky 30 years, and the best thing is that what you've learned to do, which is to play, has become your job," says Daniele Silvestri. Il cantastorie recidivo will be a different show every night, with a lot of lightness, but also with a strong connection with Emergency. "We cannot pretend that war is not part of our lives. Politics is there because it has always been there," he says.

"It's been a lucky 30 years, and the best thing is that what you've learned to do, which is to play, has become your job. And there's no better luck that it went on for so long, even longer than I thought." It was the summer of 1994 when Daniele Silvestri released his first album bearing his name, which won the Targa Tenco for the best debut album. Thirty years later, the awards and recognitions have multiplied, the albums too, and the Roman singer-songwriter is ready to celebrate three decades of career with Il cantastorie recidivo, 30 concerts at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in his native Rome, from January 18 to April. "I always thought I'd stop when I didn't have any more stories to tell, and even though I know it's going to happen, that's not the case right now," he says with one look to the past and one to the future. "Writing songs is a bit of an way to say your opinion on anything. And to go beyond yourself. Sometimes songs go where even you didn't expect them to go: this is the case of A bocca chiusa, which Paola Cortellesi included in her film C'è ancora domani. A small miracle for which I am grateful and I have no merit."

From 18 January, therefore, Silvestri will take the stage in the Petrassi hall ("the one most similar to a theatre, which is my first true love and I have long understood to be my home") to retrace his story, "my personal one, but also the collective one", he says. "It's not going to be easy to fit everything into two acts for three hours of show, but that's always set me apart. It will be a different show every night, with a lot of lightness, but also with a strong connection with Emergency. Actuality will inevitably enter, because we cannot turn our heads away in the face of what happens every day. We cannot pretend that war is not part of our lives. Politics is there because it has always been there." In addition to Emergency, Domenico Procacci will also be involved with his Fandango, because at some point the story will become an in-depth conversation, a podcast and video podcast, with the not accidental title The things we have in common, which will have a life of its own.

There will be no shortage of guests and friends (Max Gazzé and Niccolò Fabi have already been precepted, also in view of the event on July 6 at the Circus Maximus to celebrate another anniversary: that of the 10th anniversary of Il padrone della festa). "Some guests are predictable, others less so. I had also asked Daniele De Rossi, but he has a few other commitments," Silvestri admitted, on the day of Mourinho's sacking at Roma, replaced by the former Giallorossi captain. "From a fan's point of view I'm excited for him, from a friend's point of view I'm worried." These are the scheduled dates: 18, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 30, 31 January, 1, 2, 26, 27, 28 February, 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 27, 28, 29 March and 11, 12, 13, 14 April.
