Florence Loiret Caille hates to curdle. Briançon is a far cry from Borneo, her lost paradise, where she spent her childhood in milder temperatures. Just a few days before the start of filming on Cold Head, in the cool Alpine town, the actress finally confessed to director Stéphane Marchetti that "the mountains are not really (her) cup of tea". And yet, in this social thriller shot in the middle of winter, it's as if she's spent her whole life there. Even in the extreme conditions of a spectacular snowstorm, lost in the middle of the white fog and staggering in 50 centimetres of powder.
She plays Marie, a young woman in great precariousness who lives by trafficking cartons of cigarettes between Italy and France with the complicity of her lover, a gendarme who shows her the checkpoints. But one evening she meets Souleymane, a refugee, whom she helps to cross the border illegally...
