The case of little Bronson Battersby, a two-year-old boy who died of starvation alongside his father Kenneth who died of a heart attack in their home in Skegness, in the north of England, shocked the United Kingdom and sparked controversy due to the lack of police intervention despite the requests made by social workers.
The incident occurred on January 9th but it is continuing to be talked about in recent days due to the seriousness of the matter and after the launch of an investigation to shed light on the responsibilities of the police.
A social worker had gone to the Battersby home for the first time on January 2nd, to see the little boy considered "vulnerable" due to family problems aggravated by the separation of his parents, but no one had responded to him.
She then contacted the police but they did not intervene.
The same happened two days later.
The bodies of the father and son were not found until the social worker entered the house with a copy of the house keys.
According to the reconstruction of the British media, the little boy died of starvation: it is not known exactly how long after the death of his 60-year-old father, which occurred no earlier than December 29th.
While the child's mother, Sarah Piesse, accused social workers, stating that Bronson died because of them.
