Destination nature is the new mantra of the junior collections which, for Autumn/Winter 2024/25, focus more than ever on the wild character of flora and fauna, always with an eye on sustainable and quality materials to stay in contact with the skin of the little ones.

At Pitti Bimbo 98 until January 19th at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, there are 215 companies on display.

The word 'nature' is the most pronounced.

Let's see how.

On the one hand, prints of animals and breathtaking landscapes, on the other, sumptuous materials made from upcycling or precious textile remnants.

Velvet garments, cashmere sweaters and hyper-soft wools are on show.

What was once put aside is transformed into an attitude of style.

Then graphic T-shirts on organic cotton canvas, traditional Nordic outerwear and draped knitwear for a diffuse touch of romanticism.

And when the year comes to an end, the Christmas Capsules rework the holiday look with minimal interventions and stylized décor.

For the prints, landscapes of snow-capped mountains mix with art inspirations and magical atmospheres.

The urban brand Ao76, for example, is inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia, the garments have prints dictated by the vegetal stratification and the vastness of the mountain formations, while the L'orsobruno brand offers prints with the iconic bear and other colorful animals.

At Etro Kids, however, the creative director Marco De Vincenzo develops the nature theme by looking at the colors of the Earth: the kids line takes inspiration for fabrics and shapes from the adult world in a mini-me version.

Bright colors instead at Pucci, which proposes the iconic geometric prints in the kids line, with a selection of dresses, sweatshirts, changing bags and clips.

Then there is Stella McCartney Kid's wardrobe, which has always been sustainable, designed for 'ecological warriors': organic cotton T-shirts, outerwear made with recycled materials, vegan shoes and accessories.

With the same philosophy, the Rifò brand also enters the children's world, which has been focusing on regenerated fibers for years.

Thus was born a collection of sweaters in regenerated materials for boys and girls aged 4 to 10: all natural yarns with low impact on the environment, soft and delicate on the skin (it is all produced locally at 0 km by the artisans of Prato).

The Aigner brand, founded by the Hungarian Etienne Aigner, is also presented at the show, offering production based on cruelty-free processes, non-toxic dyes and sustainable materials.

But it doesn't end there, there are also 'green' shoes, costumes and toys.

The Scandinavian brand Molo reflects on respect for the environment and climate change by launching ski suits and fleece sweatshirts all made with recycled materials.

Naturino, on the other hand, proposes a collaboration with the Japanese brand Flower Mountain and launches vegan shoes (trekking-inspired sneakers and ankle boots).

Finally there is also Chikatai, a small sustainable business born in Georgia.

His must-have are musical toys, produced with certified materials.

At the show they present the first soft toy featuring a Georgian melody by composer Giya Kancheli.

And it's 'green': the waste used to make it is donated to a textile recycling company.
