Drivers quickly become frustrated when illegal parking blocks their path.

However, options for countering this are limited.

Kassel - Where there are a lot of vehicles in a small space, it's easy to get into trouble;

in both the literal and figurative sense.

There are numerous everyday examples of road users colliding with one another, both on the road and online.

But it's particularly annoying when you have to make do with an abandoned vehicle that blocks your path.

“I hate people” – Big SUV truck causes frustration among drivers

Since the authorities can hardly keep up with the numerous parking offenses, German Environmental Aid is calling on citizens to report illegal parking.

Not only one cyclist from Oberhausen seems to have made this his life's work, the members of the Reddit group “Wrong Parkers” are also following this call.

Under the cynical group motto “Everything is a parking lot;

“You just have to want it,” parking offenders are regularly made public on the platform and punished.

This was also the case in a case where an XXL off-road vehicle had simply declared a narrow alley to be a parking space.

The conflict of interest arose because the author of the post would have liked to drive past, but couldn't, as photo evidence shows.

He makes his emotional state clear in the title of his post: “I hate people.”

Street too small and ego too big?

Netzwelt makes fun of SUV drivers

He is obviously not alone in his frustration with illegal parking.

“Certified Napoleon complex,” is one user’s own answer to the benefits of oversized vehicles.

To clarify: A US SUV from the Dodge Ram brand, as shown in the article, is almost six meters long, almost two meters high and around 2.20 meters wide, well above the European standard (4.40 m long , 1.55 m high, 1.80 m wide).

So how to solve the problem?

Simple solution from the Reddit community: Either switch to the bike straight away or “honk until someone comes”.

In the end, some people are sure that only a tow truck will help.

However, if it is a case of illegal parking on the side of the road, the police are responsible;

different than on private property.

If in doubt, you are left with the costs for the towing service.

Parking illegally blocks the path: This is what the ADAC advises

As the ADAC informs, the bill initially goes to the client and not to the parking offender.

“For evidentiary reasons, meaningful photos of the situation should be taken,” it says on the car club’s homepage.

Then claim the towing costs from the vehicle owner.

However, if they return and move their vehicle while the tow truck is already on the way, the client will be responsible for the costs of the empty journey.

As the ADAC traffic experts explain, this constitutes coercion.

The penalties for this can amount to hefty fines of several thousand euros.
