Many models – especially the newer ones – have a fourth setting option.
You use this if you set your window handle to 45 degrees.
So exactly between the mode tilted and the mode open.
Then the window only opens a small gap and not as wide as it does when tilted.
But what can you use this setting for?
Only setting the window handle to 45 degrees is a trick called micro-ventilation.
Many window manufacturers advertise that their products offer exactly this option.

Mold formation can also be prevented by cross- or shock ventilation.
It is also important: not all windows have this function.
