The Bavarian Film Prize was awarded at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

Big winners included Hannah Herzsprung and Simon Verhoeven.

Read everything about the gala here.

Déjà vu?

That's how it seems on Friday evening in Munich's Prinzregententheater.

Because exactly 17 years ago, Hannah Herzsprung climbed onto this stage to accept the porcelain Pierrot.

She was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize as the best young actress in Chris Kraus' drama “Four Minutes”.

Now she's back, with the same honest joy on her face as in 2007. Because that evening she wins best actress - for Chris Kraus' sequel from back then, "15 Years".

This has never happened before at the Bavarian Film Prize.

“Your game hits us right in the heart,” said the jury.

Someone who sees it the same way provides the first entertainment highlight of the evening.

Director Michael “Bully” Herbig comes on stage as a laudator with a coffee machine.

Because he already knew Herzsprung when she was still dreaming of a big film, as an intern on the set of his “Bully Parade”.

“You were so hardworking and so present.

And you always brought me coffee.

I told you back then: One day I'll bring you the coffee." If not now, then when?

And because the bully is a man of the cinema, he calls out to everyone: “You have to watch Hanna’s game because it’s mind-blowing.”

We've known each other for many years - because Hannah Herzsprung was once an intern on the set of Michael Bully Herbig's "Bullyparade".

He hands her the Pierrot.

What also blows your mind: Rainer Kaufmann's film “Do you know yet?”

Martin Rauhaus is therefore rightly awarded the prize for the best screenplay.

The two main actors in his heartfelt chamber play, Senta Berger and Günther Maria Halmer, came to rave: “We played your book as if it were a score.

We were allowed to enjoy every note and didn’t have to change anything,” says Berger.

And Halmer: “You can empathize with Martin Rauhaus’s characters like you’re in a tailor-made suit.

I believe that this script will still be valid for 20 years - if there are still couples in 20 years who last more than 10 years together." Rauhaus is visibly touched: "It was really a great honor for me, which is somehow not the case says more, but that’s how it was.”

Veronica Ferres: “Everything is possible!”

Many warm words were spoken this evening.

In her speech after accepting the Prime Minister's Award, Veronica Ferres proves that she is a perfectionist not only in front of the camera and as a producer but also when it comes to acceptance speeches.

The microphone stand is set too low, so she quickly takes off her shoes.

And then launches into a rousing appeal to believe in yourself.

“Anything is possible was my mother’s life motto.

The fact that I am standing here today is thanks to the big dreams that I had as a little girl.” But she never lost herself in her dreams, emphasizes the 58-year-old.

How often has she heard “You are too big, too fat, too round, too wide, too weak, too emotional – in general, you are too much of everything.” But she?

Said “Nope.

I have never let my dreams be taken away from me.” Ferres dedicates her award to all women who support each other and motivate each other to achieve their best.

Cheers in the hall.

And a laconic final sentence from Ferres in the direction of Markus Söder, who decides who will receive the Prime Minister's Prize: "You've made a good choice, I'll do something with it."

And then suddenly Christoph from “Sendung mit der Maus” appears on stage in the obligatory green sweater.

To honor Tobi Krell aka Checker Tobi and the producers of megaherz GmbH of the film “Checker Tobi and the Journey to the Flying Rivers”.

But for her it is not just a moment of joy.

The director and co-inventor of the Checker Tobi format, Johannes Honsel, died unexpectedly.

He has yet to find out that the film will receive the Bavarian Film Prize.

And, as the three of them remember, they were incredibly happy.

They dedicate the porcelain figurine to their close friend.

Fab Morvan from Milli Vanilli sang – live?

It's not easy to switch from this depressing moment to entertainment.

But Tijan Njie and Elan Ben Ali, leading actors in Simon Verhoeven's “Girl You Know It's True”, are taking the audience's hearts by storm.

In the comedy they play the pop duo Milli Vanilli - and provide a special live moment with the performance of "Girl you know it's true" with real Milli Vanilli member Fab Morvan.

Bayan Layla makes a strong plea for more cohesion in society

The most important message comes shortly before the end.

Bayan Layla, who was named best young actress, reminds us of her sister in a pleasantly unpathetic but clear way.

Who, like her, fled Syria from a war that neither of them can do anything about.

And today, at 32, as the mother of two children, she is training to be a baker in a language she has learned in this country.

“My sister won’t get any prizes for that.” With her appreciation, Layla makes it clear that the derogatory speeches about people who come to us have to stop.

“There is no prototype of a refugee person.

We are not superheroes, we are human beings.

But I believe that all people have the right to live in freedom – regardless of their small or large successes.”
