presenting a question to the president and CEO of Rai.

The response from the curator and presenter Ranucci was immediate: "we will respond in the institutional offices but the sources are reliable".

The secretary of the Democratic Party Ely Schlein goes on the attack: "Meloni is worse than Berlusconi."

The question

"We presented a question to the CEO Roberto Sergio and the president Marinella Soldi to find out whether the recurring use of witnesses deemed unreliable by the judiciary, who after a few decades make revelations about alleged revelations about deceased people, is in line with as established by the Service Contract, which regulates relations between the State and Rai. It happened in the case of the father of the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, and in the case of the father of the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who among other things , as everyone knows, broke off relations with Franco Meloni when she was still a child."

This was made known by the Fratelli d'Italia group in the Rai Supervisory Commission which judges the "two journalistic reports, in some ways specular, aimed at indirectly attacking political exponents, where in one there is a repentant judged unreliable by the magistrates who after decades brings into play a deceased person, and therefore not able to argue. Furthermore, the choice is made not to give an account to the public of the unreliability of the witnesses interviewed, perhaps because otherwise the whole system of the theorem put in place would be undermined. With that which seems to all intents and purposes to be a 'method', we are witnessing the progressive degradation of a historic broadcast, once capable of carrying out real investigations, and today - concludes the note - reduced to building theorems as an end in themselves, useful only to spread mud. We hope that the CEO and the President will respond quickly and on the merits to the points we have raised".

Ranucci's reply

"Report, as is right, will respond on the merits in the institutional bodies. But for the sake of truth it must be said that the first source on La Russa was not a repentant, but a Carabinieri officer Michele Riccio. While the second source, Nunzio Perrella is a collaborator of justice never reported for slander and considered fundamental in the trials that led to the arrest of the Camorra boss Michele Senese".

Thus, in a post on Facebook, Sigfrido Ranucci, curator and host of the Rai3 investigative programme, regarding the parliamentary question filed by the FdI group in the Rai Supervisory Commission in which he complains about the "recurrent use of mafia turncoats judged unreliable by the judiciary", with particular reference to the reports on the La Russa family and on the father of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Schlein's thrust

"Meloni has surpassed Berlusconi: these attacks on the right of inquiry not even with the Bulgarian edict. We need to invent other types of edicts, I don't know if they are Hungarian edicts. They are attacks not worthy of a democracy".

The secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein said this, expressing "solidarity with Report".
