The next recall due to foreign bodies is at Edeka.

This time it's a popular cake that may have broken glass in it.

There is danger to life!

Everyone has a favorite cake that they like to eat (and preferably every day).

With the current recall of Edeka cakes, the dessert is not only a health risk because of its ingredients such as sugar, cream or similar.

As the production company informs, glass splinters are possible in the cake.

HEIDELBERG24 explains exactly which cake the recall is about.

Glass splinters in Danube Wave from Edeka

Whether it's the wrong product in the package, foreign bodies in the product or too many harmful substances, recalls have a variety of reasons.

This time it is a popular product from the Edeka supermarket chain.

As Schäfer's Produktionsgesellschaft mbH informs, there is a recall from Donauwelle.

As the company reports, it cannot be ruled out that individual pieces of the item in question may contain foreign bodies.

This only affects goods that were delivered on January 18, 2024 and as “loose goods” at the service counters at EDEKA, EDEKA Center, MARKTKAUF and in the Schäfer's specialty bakery stores in parts of the EDEKA Minden-Hannover sales area (specifically in Lower Saxony, Bremen, East Westphalia -Lippe and Saxony-Anhalt).

This is exactly what this product is:

Affected

Only goods that were delivered on January 18, 2024 are affected

I bought the Donauwelle, what can I do?

Consumers who have bought Donauwelle from Edeka should under no circumstances consume it.

Schäfer's Produktionsgesellschaft mbH and the affected trading companies reacted immediately and immediately removed the relevant goods from sale.

Other items and the “Donauwelle” product that were purchased on other days are not affected.

Customers who purchased the corresponding product on January 18, 2024 can return it to their shopping locations for a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.

Customer service responds to consumer inquiries on 0800 72 42 855 or by email: kundenservice@minden.edeka.de.

Service hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What happens if there are foreign bodies in food?

Metallic foreign bodies, shards or splinters of glass, wood and plastic splinters can cause serious injuries to the mouth and throat as well as internal injuries or bleeding.

Customers who have any of the affected items at home should stop using them and return them to the retailer.

Regardless of whether it is foreign bodies, undeclared allergens, incorrect products in the packaging or bacteria in the products, it is particularly important to pay attention to such recalls.

Therefore, a manufacturer is also informing about a recall of berries at Edeka - there is a risk to life because of pieces of plastic.
