There is a mystery about the 'rebel' prince Harry who, according to some British newspapers, found out about the hospitalization of his father King Charles III, scheduled for next week for prostate surgery, by inquiring in the media and not directly through a communication from Buckingham Palace.
He would therefore also have been cut off from private communications regarding the health problems of the Windsors which in recent days have caused great apprehension among the subjects: in addition to those of the sovereign also the surgical operation of Princess Kate, destined to remain in hospital for several more days and spend a long convalescence.
The palace denies this, saying that it "tried to warn" all the most important members of the royal family, including Harry, but the Daily Telegraph still suggests that these efforts must not have been very persistent if the prince, resident in California with his wife Meghan and their children after the separation from the Windsors in 2020, he learned of his father's condition from the media.
The Duke of Sussex, no longer among the royals active on the front of official commitments precisely since that traumatic breakup but still the second adult in the line of succession to the throne, once again would have learned internal news within the family from other sources, as happened on 8 September 2022, when he learned from the media of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, while trying in vain to reach his grandmother in Scotland for a final farewell.
