Towards the end of 2023 "we saw the beginning of the period of normalization of the economy which, however, will move towards something that is not normal": ECB President Christine Lagarde said this while speaking at the closing panel of the World Economic Forum on prospects global economies.
The normalization process, he explained, is underway in trade, inflation and the labor market.
"At the end of 2023 - said Lagarde - we saw some recovery in consumption and a return to normality in savings from a condition of excessive savings, less rigid labor markets and a reduction in inflation, both nominal and underlying.
So this is what we can expect for 2024, a continuation of these trends."
