An invisible apple cake is a very special recipe.

It has no base, but the apples are simply stacked on top of each other in many layers, alternating with dough, in a loaf pan.

This creates a juicy cake with a wonderful apple aroma.

You make the invisible apple cake from the loaf pan like this:

For a layered apple pie you need these ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg apples (these apple varieties go particularly well)

  • 4 eggs

  • 150g sugar

  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

  • 120 ml milk

  • 40g butter, melted

  • 120g flour

  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

  • 2 tbsp almond flakes

  • Powdered sugar for dusting

The preparation is simple and quick:

  • Preheat the oven to 160 °C fan oven.

Grease a loaf pan and dust it with flour.

  • Wash apples, peel, core and cut into thin slices or slice as desired.

    Put aside.

  • Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.

Stir in milk and melted butter.

Mix the flour with the baking powder and fold into the dough.

  • Cover the bottom of the loaf pan with a layer of apple slices.

Pour about two to three tablespoons of batter on top so that the fruit is just covered.

Continue layering until all ingredients are brewed.

  • Sprinkle almond flakes on top.

  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven until light brown, about 55 minutes.

Remove, let cool and turn out of the mold.

  • Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
