Black shirt and pants, dark, short, wavy hair gathered in a small ponytail, a sober, wise outfit, for a reading without artifice.

This Friday, January 19, Audrey Tautou took her place behind a desk on the garden side of the stage of the Patrick Devedjian auditorium of the Seine Musicale, on Seguin Island, in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine).

It's been 13 years since she last appeared on stage, having been away from the spotlight and film sets for several years.

She did it for her friend David Foenkinos who adapted “Charlotte”, his novel ― Goncourt des lycéens in 2014 ― for the stage, retracing the life of Charlotte Salomon, a German Jewish painter deported and murdered in Auschwitz in 1943 at the age of 26.

With her on stage, Gail Ann Dorsey, bassist for David Bowie and -M-, installed courtside.

She signed the musical concept of the show directed by Jérémie Lippmann, on view until January 25.
