Claudio Baglioni, after having crossed the finish line of 60 years of career, has announced that he will end his activity by 2026.
"I remember what my father said: you get out of the ring when you are a winner.
I call it my lap of honor , I would like to sing and play for 1000 more days and indulge in what athletes do" he said at a press conference in Milan adding: "I will finish my activity by 2026, making a series of projects and implementing them, but they will all be the last laps ".
"I fear the day of disappointment, in which one becomes a bit of a speck, with photographs to be restored, so as not to violate this demigod image, and there is nothing presumptuous in what I say", explained Baglioni.
"I don't want to get to that and I need to put the things I will do into a framework - he concluded -. It also means organizing one last lap, one last race. And this time the undertaking is more studied".
"This story has been going on for quite a few years. In 1964, not yet 13 years old, I climbed the first steps of a stage for a small festival of new voices in Centocelle. And 60 years have passed since then" said Baglioni.
"This year I celebrate 55 years of my career, my first album dates back to 1969, but my musical life turns 60 - he added -. And every time it has been a form of competition, an undertaking.
And I have done a lot. In the end it became my life itself."
In short, "I feel like I have crossed the finish line of 60 years and I have decided to give myself the lap of honor - concluded Baglioni - and close this beautiful human story with all the ups and downs that it has granted me"
