An armed group allied with Hamas in the Gaza Strip has released a video showing an Israeli hostage who they say was killed in an Israeli airstrike.

“Despite intense efforts to save his life, the Zionist enemy killed him in another attack a few days ago,” reads the caption of the video showing a man being treated for a wound, released on social media by the Al-British Brigades. Nasser Salah al-Deen.

According to what was reported by the Lebanese broadcaster Al Mayadeen, affiliated with Hezbollah, the brigades - military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees in Palestine - identified the hostage as Ohad Yahalomi, a 49-year-old captured by Hamas in Kibbutz Nir Oz during the attack on 7 last October.

Ohad is the father of 12-year-old Eitan Yahalomi, who was also kidnapped by Hamas and released on November 27 as part of the prisoner and hostage exchange agreement between Israel and the militants in Gaza.

The testimonies of the twelve-year-old were released by relatives according to which the boy was beaten, imprisoned in the tunnels of the enclave and forced by his kidnappers to watch the video of the October 7 massacre, threatened with rifles every time he cried.
