The vote of Italians, from one to 10, is 7.2: they are more than satisfied with the living conditions in the Bel Paese in 2022. And they are also satisfied with the main EU partners.

In fact, in France the score is 7, 7.1 in Spain and much lower in Germany, just above passing (6.5).

Data destined to worsen with the recession recorded a few days ago.

These are the results of the ranking drawn up by Eurostat which sees compatriots among the most optimistic in Europe.

Meanwhile, Italians' wages will increase in 2023 but - according to Odm Consulting - they will be devoured by inflation.

In 2022 - explains Eurostat in the usual survey - people in the EU rated their overall satisfaction in life on average at 7.1 points on a scale from 0 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied).

For 18 of the 27 EU countries, overall life satisfaction was rated above or equal to the EU average.

The rating was highest in Austria (7.9), Finland, Poland and Romania (each at 7.7), Belgium and the Netherlands (both at 7.6) and lowest in Bulgaria (5.6), Germany ( 6.5) and Greece (6.7).

In all countries except Bulgaria, average life satisfaction scores were above 6, meaning that most people in the EU said they were satisfied rather than dissatisfied.

The ability to meet one's needs certainly affects this: satisfaction in life - explains the European Institute of Statistics - can be influenced by many factors such as age, level of education, family and financial situation.

And precisely on this, a recent report by Odm Consulting shows that Italians earned more in 2023 but inflation, now in a declining phase, has burned up the share of the higher salary.

From the remuneration report of Odm Consulting, a Gi Group Holding company that deals with HR consultancy and remuneration surveys, it emerges that in the first 9 months of the year wages recorded a +3.7% compared to 2022 (in the previous year the trend growth was 2.8%) but purchasing power is still affected by the weight of inflation which, although at a significantly lower rate than 2022, continues to grow more than wages.

The basic salary was just over 34,000 euros with a variation ranging from 27,716 euros for a worker to 119,603 for a manager.

The company size, the territorial area and the sector of activity are three factors that can also significantly impact the basic salary, differently for each classification.

For all positions, although to a different extent, as the size of the organization increases, the remuneration increases.

The geographical location of the company also affects in the same direction, albeit with different percentages,
