"Today I had to represent to the board of directors and the Board of Auditors of the Teatro di Roma my opposition to the actions which - from what I have been told - are being carried out in reference to Luca De Fusco".

by the president of the Teatro di Roma, Francesco Siciliano, who in a note protests against some decisions that would trample on his prerogatives and against some details relating to the contract for the new general director.
"I have invited all the councilors and mayors to intervene and desist from the purpose described above, otherwise - he warns - all the consequent actions will be evaluated".

"I won't go into the merits of De Fusco's qualities", explains Siciliano. "But I must go into the merits of the attitude held regarding the related contractualisation.
In fact, I was told that the board of directors, with an objectively unprecedented act, decided to assign the power to sign the contract with Luca De Fusco (as new general director of the Theatre) to a member of the board of directors other than myself. And this, although my statutory prerogatives as president of the Foundation require the board of directors to respect my function - non-substitutable - as legal representative of the Foundation itself and , more generally, of a person responsible for executing the decisions of the board of directors".
"But it's not just this - continues Siciliano -. From what I was told, it would seem that the board of directors, despite not having decided on either the duration of Luca De Fusco's appointment or the salary hypothesized for it, has entrusted to someone of the members of the board of directors a blank delegation with the task of identifying similar fundamental parameters".
"What is even more serious - he adds - is that it seems that a five-year contract with 150 thousand euros of compensation is being hypothesized (in addition to the director's fees). Such a choice would imply an objectively exorbitant decision compared to a normal three-year project of any theater and, what's more, it would be disproportionate to any limit of reasonableness. Luca De Fusco is a director and not a manager. And coming from a theatre, that of Catania, absolutely comparable to the Theater of Rome in terms of volume of business and from which he receives approximately 68 thousand euros in compensation.
The almost tripling of the compensation compared to the reference value of Luca De Fusco (accepted by him for his previous role) therefore remains devoid of any justification and potentially represents damage to the Theater of Rome for its resources which, we remind you, come for 6 and a half million from the Municipality of Rome and for just over a million from the Lazio Region".
