The best directors nominated for the 2024 Oscar are Justine Triet for Anatomy of a Fall, Jonathan Glazer for The Zone of Interest, Yorgos Lanthimos for Poor Creatures!, Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer and Martin Scorsese for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Out went Greta Gerwig from Barbie who had been listed as eligible.
This is Scorsese's tenth nomination.
The nominations, chosen by Academy members from a record 93 countries, were announced today at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid.
Frenchwoman Justin Triet is the eighth woman in Oscar history to be nominated for directing.
