"I want to die, life is over": these are the words spoken by Alain Delon last July 20, during the visit of a general practitioner at the actor's historic residence in Douchy, in the south of France.
The dialogue with Delon, 88 years old, greatly weakened after the stroke in 2019, "was difficult and the answers were not very expressive: sometimes he nodded his head or raised his thumb" to confirm information, the doctor testified, according to what the newspaper Le Parisien revealed today. The doctor goes so far as to evoke a state of ''physical and mental fatigue, with a greater risk of suicide".
Le Parisien explains that the visit was part of an investigation (now closed) launched by the gendarmes after the complaint of mistreatment and circumvention of an incompetent person filed by his children - Anouchka, Anthony and Alain-Fabien - against Hiromi Rollin, 66, who for many years was the actor's assistant, then his self-styled ex-partner.
Also in July, Delon was heard by the gendarmes of the Orléans section.
According to the documents, even on that occasion, the icon of French cinema "was not able to pronounce complete sentences".
He was unable to "get up from the chair on his own and moved very slowly, with difficulty, with the aid of crutches". He would have mimed the "middle finger" gesture when Hiromi Rollin's behavior was evoked.
According to the actor, Rollin dreamed of becoming ''Madame Delon''.
"His great failure was the wedding", said the protagonist of 'The Leopard', explaining that the woman ''never stopped'' asking him to take her to the town hall to marry her. At the beginning of January her sons Anthony and Alain-Fabien, fighting against her sister Anouchka, asked to place the star under judicial guardianship in France, due to her inability to understand. Anouchka instead wants to take her father to Switzerland, where she lives.In the war of the Delon clan everyone believes they want to protect the patriarch.
Anthony, 59, and Alain-Fabien, 29, claim that their father is being manipulated by Anouchka, 33, accused of wanting to take him back to Switzerland just to avoid paying too much inheritance tax.
She in turn accuses her brothers of putting her father's life at risk and assures that in Switzerland she would enjoy more adequate medical care than that obtained in France.
Interviewed on January 14th by the Swiss newspaper Le Matin, Anthony instead says that his father is not left without care at all, but is "assisted in the Douchy residence by an extremely competent doctor".
"We also have renowned specialists in France", points out the son.
He and his brother Alain-Fabien also say they want to respect their father's wishes to end his days in Douchy.
