"The Constitution itself must be written all together, but there was no good will.
From the discussion we drew the critical issues you represented and we said 'we are open to dialogue', but we will not give up direct election".
The Minister of Reforms, Elisabetta Casellati, said this in her reply on the premiership, addressing the opposition, during the general discussion on the reform underway in the Constitutional Affairs commission of the Senate.
And he recalled: "The original idea is the one that is written in our electoral program and that is the direct election of the President of the Republic. Therefore I strongly reject the fact that there was no listening and discussion. Instead, the listening activity led to this result."
