The 'relay' between the elected prime minister and the second 'incoming' (a parliamentarian of the same majority) can only take place in cases of permanent impediment, death, voluntary resignation or forfeiture of the former.
Furthermore, if defeated by one of the two Chambers, the head of government resigns within 7 days or proposes the dissolution of the Chambers to the head of State.
According to what we learn, it is the proposal of the Brothers of Italy in an amendment to the reform of the premiership, to be submitted to the allies, and which would modify the anti-reversal rule. It is one of the 7 corrective measures proposed by FdI on which the center-right will have to find an agreement.
