Straight on agriculture in a changing climate to provide concrete answers through technologies, field practices and research.

This is the underlying theme of the 116th edition of Feragricola 2024 scheduled in Verona from 31 January to 3 February, presented this morning, in the presence, among others, of the undersecretary of Masaf, Patrizio Giacomo La Pietra.

An event with record numbers: 11 pavilions, 820 exhibitors from Italy and 20 countries, delegations and accredited buyers from 20 countries, 52 thousand square meters occupied, 4,600 square meters dedicated to livestock exhibitions, with 140 conferences.

The spotlight is therefore on the educational growth of the sector, where the acceleration towards hi-tech, robotics and Artificial Intelligence is essential to overcome the current critical issues of a 'true open-air factory' sector.

"It is a fair born in 1898 and grown in recent years with an increasingly international face", said the president of Veronafiere Federico Bricolo, announcing the participation of the minister Francesco Lollobrigida.

A fair, continued Bricolo, "which represents a sector worth 600 billion euros, with 60 billion in turnover, we are talking about an important pillar of the Italian economy. We expect a large influx, with the return after two years of the most important Italian agricultural event and among the main ones at an international level".

An appointment which according to La Pietra "is also an opportunity to take stock of everything that has been done this year by the government and Masaf and to make a projection of what the future could be".

We will be present at the fair with a Masaf stand precisely to give more importance and incisiveness to the activity of the ministry itself". During the event, as explained by Marino Berton, scientific coordinator of Fieragricola, there will be a series of events "not so much for speak generically about climate change but to give answers, some indications in all sectors" It will therefore be a 360-degree showcase city for the sector, with the mayor Damiano Tommasi who recalled that Verona is the second largest agricultural province in Italy.
