Curious, ambitious and very useful new developments were shown at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

We present some highlights of the high-tech trade fair.

The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas is one of the world's largest trade fairs for technology and consumer electronics.

This year it also opened the season for manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Sony and Microsoft.

IPPEN.MEDIA presents some of the highlights, where almost everything revolves around AI.

Highlights of the US technology trade fair CES: Self-driving stroller

The Canadian company Glüxkind has presented the latest versions of its smart strollers Ella and Rosa.

Electric motors support parents when pushing, and intelligent brakes prevent rolling downhill.

Thanks to cameras and sensors, the stroller can drive autonomously if desired.

Mom or dad can then hold the child in their arms and calm them down.

To help you fall asleep, the Rock my Baby function rocks the offspring into the realm of dreams or plays the parents' voices.

Facial recognition prevents strangers from running away with children and carts.

It starts in summer from around 2500 euros.

Transparent TVs

The first transparent OLED television comes from LG.

The transparency TV should practically no longer be visible as soon as it is turned off.

The colorless display of the LG Signature OLED T hangs in a metal frame and reveals everything behind it.

To watch TV, a kind of black screen must be extended behind the screen to provide the necessary contrasts.

The 77-inch TV is scheduled to appear this year.

As a precaution, LG is not revealing the (spectacularly high) price yet.

Similar technology also comes from Samsung, but initially for the commercial sector.

AI in use for older users

The Israeli start-up Intuition Robotics has its senior companion ElliQ 3 ready for series production.

At first glance, the device looks like a smartphone with a lamp.

But thanks to AI, the technology is entirely geared towards the needs of older people.

The little robot can read and write emails, show photos, have video chats and much more using voice commands.

What's new is the ability to paint pictures or write poems together - which is supposed to keep you mentally busy.

Alexa toilet

The first toilet seat with voice control comes from US sanitary specialist Kohler.

With Amazon's Alexa or Google Home, the four letters can be cleaned with a water spray or dried with warm air.

The seat can also be heated, disinfected with UV - and serves as a night light with LED lighting.

The Pure Wash E930, which can be used to retrofit existing toilets, costs 2,200 euros.

A robot courier that climbs stairs

When it comes to self-driving courier cars, the question has always been: How do the packages get to the recipient on the third floor?

The Hyundai subsidiary Mobinn now offers a solution: its delivery robot can climb stairs.

The first practical tests are already underway in Korea.

Carrera train without rails

The times when Carrera trains required rails and tracks are over.

The latest Carrera Hybrid model series comes with race tracks that can be driven across the entire width - thanks to AI, of course.

The first sets Devil Drivers and Speedway to Hell are coming in autumn, there are no prices yet.

It is (unfortunately) no longer controlled with a Carrera controller, but rather with a smartphone app.

This works against each other in the hobby room as well as online with up to 30 competitors.

Binoculars with animal detection

The Austrian company Swarovski is not only known for extremely expensive glass splinters - but also for high-quality binoculars.

The new AX Visio 10x32, which also photographs and films, has the future built in.

Thanks to AI, 8,000 species of birds, 300 mammals and numerous butterflies can not only be observed, but also identified.

Starting in February for 4600 euros.

AI medics

The all-in-one medical aid BeamO from the French company Withings won three innovation awards at the CES.

The multiscope measures body temperature, provides a medically valid ECG, examines the oxygen content in the blood and, as a digital stethoscope, creates precise analyzes of heart and lung function.

The French promise a “complete health check in just one minute”.

First consultation: In June for 250 euros.

Glare-free television

As soon as the television is running in a bright environment, lamps or the windows are reflected in the screen.

Samsung is now putting an end to this.

Thanks to a new hard coating on the display, reflections should practically disappear completely - without negative effects on colors, contrasts and the viewing angle from the side.

The new glare-free OLED models S95D are available in sizes up to 77 inches.
