“Maxim, are you okay? Answer me…”: how Sylvie, the heroic teacher, saved her 9-year-old student

He doesn't have much more to say: he has no memory of this day when, without the heroic intervention of Sylvie, his fifth grade teacher, he would no longer be in this world.

An ordinary morning in class, at the Pasteur school in Camphin-en-Pévèle (North), where, without warning, he collapsed, victim of cardiac arrest, as revealed by La Voix du Nord.

“It was Tuesday, November 21,” remembers the teacher, retiring next year after 37 years of career.

A few days earlier, Fatima, Maxime's mother, had warned her that her son had an appointment with a cardiologist for a "heart murmur" which was causing "electric shocks" in her boy's chest.

“We had three weeks to wait.

This is the shortest time we have found in the region to see a heart specialist,” recalls Fatima.
