The organizers of Darom Adom announced today (Friday) that the festival has been canceled, except for the anemone parade - this was reported on the IDF airwaves, following the criticism of the headquarters of the families of the abductees in recent days. The tourism association Shekma Bashor issued a statement today that they are canceling the events planned for the weekend.
"We are attentive and share the pain of the residents of the area. We have decided, together with our five partner regional councils, not to hold the Darom Adom events in the format that was planned."
They also said in the announcement that "residents of the area, and many business owners who have chosen to return and operate, will open their doors to visitors and they look forward to returning and hosting visitors. Organized information about the tourism businesses that will operate, hours of operation and registration will appear on the Heshur website and everyone is invited to visit and support."
The Allanyot march in memory of the slain Ofir Liebstein, with the coordination and consent of his family and the Negev Gate Council, will take place.

Bar Hefetz, a farmer from Kibbutz Nirim in the Gaza Strip, wrote the personal post in preparation for the "South Adom" events. Many doubts and questions were asked about holding the "Anemone Festival", perhaps the most well-known event of the region and one of the largest tourism events in the country, which in a normal year attracts almost half a million travelers who come to enjoy the blooming of the anemones, and along the way also support the businesses in the area.
