"A civilized way of representing the protest that up until now we have been managing in an impeccable manner": Interior Minister Matteo Pianted thus responded to a question about the farmers' initiatives with their tractors.

"I want to thank the prefects and police chiefs above all who are mediating and having the collaboration of the organizers so that there is a point of balance between the need to demonstrate but at the same time not to affect what are issues of public order and safety", added Piantedosi at end of the Public Safety Committee which took place in Perugia.

"I believe this will also happen in the next few days" the minister said again, referring to the way in which the protests are taking place.

"Given that - he added - between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow there will be a further evolution of the situation. We will presumably also have these demonstrations in Rome but the prefect and police commissioner of the city are discussing with the organizers so that they take place as I said in the realization of this point of balance between the legitimate expression of thought but at the same time that there are no problems for citizens, much less public order. I am convinced that this will also happen between Thursday and Friday".

Regarding the political merit of the claim, Piantedosi recalled that he was not the sector minister.

"But obviously - he said - I followed the story, the government is also happy with the decisions taken in Brussels because, as was also said by President Meloni, they were observations and demands, so to speak, that the executive itself had brought to Europe. So what the farmers is very much in line with what had been the government's visions and policies on the problems reported by farmers and from this point of view of merit obviously also on the fact that this protest is having an effectiveness in Europe, the government can only be happy with it".
