"Those at UNRWA are accusations, I repeat, accusations, and they must be proven."
EU high representative Josep Borrel said this during the press conference with the UN agency commissioner Philippe Lazzarini.
"The investigations have already been launched and we are talking about the actions of 13 employees out of 30 thousand: UNRWA will ensure individual accountability, not collective punishment. Stopping UNRWA's work means a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and in the countries of the Middle East and this would have a impact on European security: 5.6 million people depend on the agency".
