All seasonal and with an excellent quality-price ratio are the agri-food products suggested for the week from 16 to 23 February by "La Borsa dellaSpesa", a service created in collaboration with ConsumerismoNo Profit based on Bmti and Italmercati data.
The first strawberries are starting to appear, for which "there has been a drop in price compared to previous weeks thanks to the fact that the above average temperatures make the fruit's ripening process quicker, with prices ranging from 4.50 to 5, 10 euros/kg.
Cauliflowers, fennels, lettuces, artichokes and endives are highly recommended. In this case, the increase in temperatures has led to a substantial increase in production and a consequent drop in prices. On average, we find cauliflowers at 0.50 euros/kg, lettuces from 0.90 to 1.20 euros/kg, fennel from 0.80 to 1.20 euros/kg, Roman artichokes from 0.90 to 1.00 euros per piece. The temperatures above average are also facilitating cuttlefish fishing which, thanks to the large quantities it presents, has convenient prices ranging from 10.00 to 12.00 euros/kg, oysters, which have lower prices than last year, around 8.00 euros/kg. Finally,
this week, we find the price of chicken breast with range ranging from 5.20 to 5.40 euros/kg (-11% compared to a year ago)".
