A winter without a winter continues.
Temperatures fluctuate up to record values of +8 or +10°C compared to the average for the period.
From Monday there will be an increase in instability with some phenomena in the Centre, between Tuesday and Wednesday the passage of a vortex over the Tyrrhenian Sea will cause precipitation from the Center towards the South. This was stated by Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of the website www.iLMeteo.it.
"The winter season has not yet had cold phases and lots of snow if we exclude an early December with below average temperatures - he adds -. Considering the 'meteorological' winter, this season will therefore end in 12 days and we will remember it with the '+' sign. An upset climate which presents alarming data regarding drought with a critical situation especially in Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria. There is no water in the South and no snow throughout the Apennines. There is a deficit of water resources coming from snow, 64% at Italian level".
Regarding the forecast, this hot and anomalous phase will continue in the next few hours and even the minimum temperatures will be decidedly mild;
on both Saturday and Sunday during the day the temperature will exceed 20-22 degrees, a typical value for late March-early April.
According to Gussoni, "on Sunday 18th we will still reach 20°C in Florence, Pistoia, Terni with 19 degrees also in Arezzo, Benevento and Grosseto; also notable are the 18°C in Lucca and Matera, the first near the coast and the second at 400 meters above sea level".
"A strong Atlantic disturbance could arrive from Friday 23rd, bringing water back to many regions and perhaps snow not only on the Alps but also on the Apennines", concludes the expert.
