A sea of yellow flowers – that’s how you imagine daffodils in the garden.
But what can you do when the leaves are there but no flowers?
If daffodils are blooming in the garden, spring is just around the corner.
A little later than snowdrops, winter aconites or crocuses, the pretty daffodils sprout from the ground and give life to forest and garden floors.
If daffodils have more leaves than flowers this year, it's annoying, but there's usually a simple explanation behind it.
It's the onion's fault

The plant's most impressive feature in the garden is its striking yellow flower, which is reminiscent of a trumpet.
But if only the leaf green is visible instead of yellow, there is cause for concern.
This is how weak flowering occurs:
The energy stored last year was mainly put into the daughter bulbs, as
Floristik24.de
knows.
The fact that the strength has been passed on to the daughter generation weakens the mother plant.
Last year it was unable to store enough reserve substances and therefore no longer has the strength to bloom lushly.
Another reason for a complete lack of flowering can be that you don't like the location of the daffodil.
Make sure it is sunny to partially shaded.
The daffodil could be lacking nutrients.
Make sure that they are on nutrient-rich soil or add fertilizer.

You can do that
After flowering, as soon as the green has dried out, you should dig up the bulbs, remove or divide the sprouting bulbs and replant them in the ground somewhere else, as
Floristik24.de
advises.
Alternatively, you can use wild and natural forms of daffodils, as these lose less of their flowering power in the long run.
