The judge of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court Alexandre de Moraes rejected the request of former president Jair Bolsonaro to postpone his interrogation and established that the federal police maintain the date of the deposition of the former head of state, already set for Thursday 22 February.
The summons falls within the framework of the investigation into the coup attempt, which resulted in the attacks on the buildings of democracy in Brasilia, in January 2023.
"There is no obstacle to maintaining the scheduled date, since the suspect's lawyers had full access to the documents", De Moraes states in his decision, adding that it is not up to Bolsonaro "to choose the date and time of his interrogation".
