Brazil's Foreign Ministry has recalled its ambassador to Israel, Fred Meyer, for consultations.
The provision comes in the aftermath of Tel Aviv's decision to declare Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva 'persona nongrata' for having accused the Jewish State of having committed a genocide in Gaza, comparing the actions of the Israeli armed forces in Palestine - following the attacks in Hamas of 7 October last - to the action of Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust.
