The singer Marco Castoldi, aka Morgan, appeared this morning before the single judge Marta Maria Bossi of the Imperia court following accusations of defamation by his colleague Cristian Bugatti, aka Bugo.
The story concerns the argument between the two singers that occurred on the fourth evening of the 2020 Sanremo Festival, when Morgan changed the lyrics of the competing song 'Sincero' and Bugo left the stage.
An episode that left the audience and the presenters, Amadeus and Fiorello, astounded.
"Today's hearing - reads a note from Bugo's press office - marks an important moment in the legal path that Bugo undertook four years ago, forced to sue Morgan for having seriously compromised his reputation and work of him".
And he continues: "After the events that occurred during the 2020 Sanremo Festival, Bugo never sought public conflict or controversy, but was forced to take this legal action to defend his dignity and his emotional and professional well-being. Several times Morgan appeared in public contexts denigrating the image of his colleague. Bugo now relies on justice to shed light on this situation and re-establish the facts according to truth and fairness."
During the hearing, Morgan renewed his apologies towards his colleague, who however rejected them, just as he rejected the compensation proposal of three thousand euros, and the judge adjourned the hearing until April 30th for the settlement of the case.
