"We shared the need for a ceasefire to be reached" between Hamas and Israel.
This was said by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on a state visit to Cyprus, after a conversation with the President, Nikos Christodoulides, speaking about the conflict in the Middle East.
And the crisis must be resolved, declared the Head of State, "without the risk of widening this dramatic conflict and further tensions in that Region which risks causing other more serious problems to explode".
