The USA is in favor of using frozen Russian assets in favor of Kiev but "every nation must decide for itself, it is a sovereign decision".
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said this in a briefing with Italian correspondents in the US after the meeting between Joe Biden and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the Oval Office.
Kirby, however, specified that the American president "does not have the authority to do it, it is up to parliament (which is already working on it, ed.)".
And he added that the move would have to be "agreed with the allies", with the G7 as the ideal forum for dialogue.
