He pointed out that the Authority will hold many annual symposiums and field days to encourage farmers to continue cultivating strategic crops, especially wheat, barley and cotton. It also provides advice and guidance to farmers in all field departments and extension units of the Authority, which will reduce costs and increase returns. Most crops play an important role in food security in the country.

For his part, the Director of the Plant Wealth in the Authority, Eng. He pointed out that the plan to plant sugar beet for the next season was canceled for the first time in the jungle after it was produced before the crisis about 300 thousand tons per year.

For his part, Director of Animal Resources Dr. Hassan Othman that the jungle area is one of the important areas in the breeding and development of livestock herds such as cattle, sheep, goats and buffalo in addition to raising poultry where there are 31 thousand heads of cattle and 950 heads of buffalo and 277 thousand heads of sheep and goats In addition, there are 68 licensed poultry farms, 24 of which are already operational, while the rest have been discharged from service, compared to 65 unlicensed poultry farms.

Osman pointed out that the contribution of livestock in the production of large quantities of milk and meat annually exceeds the need of the local market in the jungle of these articles, so breeders suffer from the difficulty of discharging these products and control merchants price, calling for the establishment of a government factory for cheese and dairy to absorb the surplus milk.

In turn, irrigation director Hassan Mahfoud pointed out that the forest lands are irrigated by an extensive network of irrigation canals and is also served by a network of main or secondary drains. In the Al-Ghab region, about 5,000 wells have a total annual output of 176 million cubic meters used to irrigate crops, fish production and fish, in addition to providing drinking water, while the annual water requirement of the jungle basin is about 500 million cubic meters. The area of ​​land under the supervision of the work of the Forest Development Authority is 140 thousand and 799 hectares of which 87367 hectares for agricultural production in addition to the presence of 2371 hectares of pastures and meadows and 37164 hectares of forest and forests.
