The branch of the Public Institution for Seed Propagation in Al-Hasakah has started operations of financing farmers with wheat and barley seeds for the winter agricultural season 2019-2020.
In a statement to SANA correspondent today, the director of the foundation's branch, Eng. Ayed Al-Hussein, explained that the financing operations include farmers and contractors with the branch to plant propagation fields in the first and second areas of stability.He pointed out that the funding is in cash at a price of 200 thousand pounds per ton of wheat and 145 thousand pounds per ton of barley.
Al-Hussein pointed out that the stock of the branch contains 6500 tons of sterile wheat seeds and sifters and 700 tons of barley seeds, of which two thousand tons of wheat seed and 125 tons of barley seeds have been allocated to the contracting farmers to cultivate propagation fields and the rest will be distributed to the farmers.
The branch plan for the current season includes planting eighty thousand dunums of wheat crop and eight thousand dunums of barley crop in order to produce improved seeds of all varieties for the need to provide seeds for the coming seasons.
