At 6 o'clock in the morning on Friday (17th), a taxi, a private car, and a van were traveling along the Changqing Tunnel towards Tuen Mun. Shortly after leaving the tunnel, three cars collided while the Changqing Highway was near a northwestern junction of Tsing Yi.
After the accident, the van turned over, the taxi body was severely damaged, and many people were trapped. They needed to be rescued by firemen. Five people were injured.
The Transport Department announced at 6.18 am that due to a traffic accident, some lanes of the Cheung Tsing Highway towards the airport near Jin Zhu Kok have been closed. There is heavy traffic on the site.
