Weichs Local Council: A meeting for the annals

The public council meeting in Weichs last Wednesday will probably go down in history in two ways. In order to ensure the necessary “Corona clearance”, the council did not meet in the town hall, but for the first time in the large community hall of the sports and community center. It was also the last joint meeting of the municipal elected officials in the current legislative period.

At the next meeting on May 6th at 7 p.m. also in the citizens' hall, Mayor Harald Mundl (WBV) will not only say goodbye to the outgoing town councils, but also swear in the new ones.

The current session was without major discussions. The councils unanimously approved the changes to the land use plan in the “Am Mühlbach” area. As a reminder: We have already reported extensively on the new plans and usage plans, and there were no comments from the citizens. The "Holdenriedweg" plan area passed the town council without a vote against.

In addition, the committee appointed Armin Kolles as the new data protection officer for the municipality of Weichs. Administrative representative Susanne Penka becomes his deputy. Because of the corona crisis, however, she had to postpone her training. Werner Kerzel was previously data protection officer, which he was not supposed to be by law, because Kerzel is also a manager. And that, it was heard at the meeting, could lead to conflicts of interest.

The application from the Weichs Theaterstadel to provide storage for moving parts was also given a positive response. The previous accommodation in a former agricultural building simply does not prove to be optimal. As soon as the new children's home will be ready in autumn 2021, the library can also move in there. The “theaters” can then store their utensils in their previous room in the basement of the primary school. Heinz Nefzger
