The Negev is on the verge of explosion Israel today

2021-09-29T20:57:16.914Z

If anyone thinks the Wall Guard operation is over, he's wrong. Here in the south it continues, in the war on the house every day and for an hour - we have crossed the boiling line, and the criminals are celebrating the loss of deterrence

When we talk about deterrence, we usually mean creating the deterrence of an enemy or an aggressor.

For us, the residents of the Negev, deterrence is simply not in the lexicon: the rulers of terror in the Negev, and - they are civilian terrorists - are simply not afraid of the law enforcement authorities.

If there is a deterrent - it is on our side.

Since January 2021, after the violent and brutal robbery of the discharged soldier near the football stadium in Be'er Sheva, fear has prevailed in the city streets.

People move in convoys traveling from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Women and girls are afraid to walk around alone during the day and night, and a sense of chaos prevails everywhere.

The city where I grew up, was educated and where I got to serve the residents of my beloved city, as a volunteer city council member for over two and a half years, has changed its face.

A month after the birth of my son, I joined a group of residents from the south out of a desire to make the cry of all of us. Half a year later, with the fuel vapor in the Negev air, we are a second before an explosion. So far, the daily harassment, burglary, rape of women and riots on the roads have not been of much interest to Israeli society. Perhaps the double murder last weekend in the city will make it clear to the government that it is no longer possible to go down. Like the last Israeli government, he may find himself surprised by the next war that we are really on the verge of.

The Israeli government must declare a state of national emergency. The introduction of police and military units to clean up Arab society from illegal weapons should have been done yesterday, not today. At the same time, law-abiding citizens should be facilitated in issuing weapons licenses, so that residents of the south will also be recognized as residents of an area with increased security activity, such as Judea and Samaria.

After a weekend in which a man was killed in the middle of a night out on a Friday night in the heart of the Negev capital, an uninvolved citizen was injured and in addition a woman was murdered in Lakia, we well understand that those who are deterred are law-abiding citizens, while rioters can continue to celebrate as they please. When the police are already doing their job and arresting suspects, the revolving door culture allows the court to release them. Thus, some of the terrorist rulers on the southern roads were released during Operation Wall Guard. It is not just a disconnection, it is a feeling of complete abandonment of the residents of the south to life-threatening, a complete relinquishment by the legal and judicial systems of providing security to the residents of the Negev.

"In the Negev, the people of Israel will be examined," said First Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.

The question is whether the Israeli government will be able to do everything to save us from final failure.
